Trae Tha Truth Ft. Lupe Fiasco – Bad Don’t Seem So Wrong
Here’s the track we’ve all been waiting for. Off of Trae’s upcoming “Can’t Ban Tha Truth” mixtape which drops on Sept. 28th. Lupe Fiasco joins Trae Tha Truth for a dope, lyrical record called “Bad Don’t Seem So Wrong”, available for download above off of Trae’s upcoming mixtape, Can’t Ban Tha Truth. Before any of the emcees, you’ll notice an addicting sample that says “Late at night, in your bed, the bad don’t seem so wrong // No sense to bitch you out, because you all know what’s gone wrong”. The sample/hook sets the tone for Lupe and Trae to drop some thought-provoking rhymes essentially about getting comfortable in the material life with the fighting thought of searching for more or searching for change. This general summary doesn’t really do justice to all of the lines from both rappers so make sure to listen closely to hear and interpret the message in your own way. I was pleasantly surprised by Trae The Truth, whose husky voice never really appealed to me, but definitely works well on this track. Lyrically, he came with it and matches wits and holds his own with Lupe, who of course drops some gems himself but didn’t quite have the amazing flow that I have come to expect. He definitely took his delivery in a different direction on this one and at times, it felt like he was just talking.
